Sort by: [deleted] • 1 yr. ago. You can go on a hero point train. You should see them advertised in map chat. The HoT maps should give more than enough points for a single elite specialization. There will also be trains on the PoF maps. An alternative if you play WvW is to buy the points with WvW Heroics. demonthorn.
On the Guild Wars 2 release, each profession had five core specializations to choose from. Currently, the number has been increased to seven, with the addition of two elite specs available in the Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire expansions (you have to buy them to gain access to these specs though).
The coolest is chronomancer, and probably the most fun imo. For dps most viable is virtuoso, which is really smooth and flows well. Mirage is also great but slightly falls behind the other two slightly. I can not wrap my head around chrono for the life of me 🥹 I'm sure it plays super fun - once you actually learn it.
If you include the current 2 elite specs you need a total of 30 combination traits. That's actually more than 2 whole specializations. And I'd much rather see more core specializations and new skills than a single trait on top of what we have. The Willbender is the End of Dragons Elite Specialization for the Guardian. The Willbender replaces your virtues with the Willbender Flames. This turns the slow moving, supportive guardian into a very self centered soldier. Less defense, more offense! Willbender vs. Firebrand vs. Dragonhunter vs. Core Guardian.
Things change. ArenaNet had once said that it was very unlikely that GW2 would ever get an expansion, yet here we are. It's not written in stone that we won't get new professions in the future (we did get one new profession with HoT, by the way), nor is it written in stone that all professions must have two elite specializations, and so on.
